Last week a massive swell made it’s way up from Southern Australia, colliding first with Shipsterns in Tassie, then making it’s way up the east coast of Australia, until finally reaching Fiji. I got a couple of keepers with the sun setting rapidly on Friday afternoon and only one team towing in. One of these images was published by Swellnet (you can view the site here http://www.swellnet.com.au/galleries/waveoftheday?image=543 ) and the following couple of days saw slightly smaller waves with a few pro’s paddling in (Ryan Hipwood, Richie Vaculik, Mark Healey, Dean Morrison and Gadiel/Tavarua Boatman). Here are some of the images from those days.
We are also expecting another long period swell this coming week so fingers crossed for more sunny days of shooting and as always i’ll keep you updated with fresh images as I create them. I want to say a big thanks to everyone who has emailed me the past few days with positive comments-it’s a massive boost of positive energy whenever someone takes the time to provide kind feedback and is greatly appreciated.
I would also like to thank CPL (http://www.photocpl.co.nz/) for all of his advise over this past year. Mate, you have been unbelievably helpful in terms of offering advise and your willingness to pass on your knowledge is something all experienced photographers should strive for.
Enjoy the images!
