22/01/11-Excerpts from the road

WELL, this is my first blog with the new and improved website up and running and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the multi-talented Fagan Wilcox (thanks bro!).

As I’m currently living in Melbourne the only realistic option for a summer roadie was NZ as it would allow for Chrissy with the family and a long-overdue catch-up with great friends. So we packed the bags and set off for a ten day surfing safari from Wellington to Auckland via surf Highway 45.  Anyone who has been fortunate enough to explore this region will agree that the variety of waves and friendly locals make for a memorable experience and you are more often than not left wanting more. Below are a collection of pics from the trip. You’ll notice one shot that really highlights the local knowledge required to surf some of the breaks in the area, as one of the locals weaves his way through a collection of sporadically placed boulders!! For more on this trip check out http://surf.co.nz/blogs/surf-search/2011/2/1839-summer-escapism

I have also included some water shots from the Mornington Peninsula last Friday. My new SPL housing has been super fun as I personally feel water shots capture the moment better than any land shot could-being in the thick of the action and all. Although, in saying that, there is definitely a time and a place for rocking the housing, as the waves tend to dictate the resulting quality of the images.

I’m going to update this blog on a regular basis, so keep logging on and hopefully the images will provide some inspiration and incite the mind-surfing daydream that tends to fill my days when I’m away from the surf 🙂

If you like any of the images more than ‘hey thats cool’ and would like to purchase one to fill that unoccupied space around your pad,  just flick me an email and i’ll happily oblige your request. I’m currently working on a new feature page where you can view, purchase and download images from my sessions direct from the site, so keep an eye out for that.

That’s me for now. Enjoy the jimages
